Joke started her career as a teacher, but over the following 25 years has translated millions of words on a wide range of subjects. She founded two companies and has studied all facets of business in great depth. “Inspiration” is her second name and “creativity” is written in her genes.

Paula studied to be an English teacher and then studied English Language & Literature. In her many years’ experience as a translator, she’s seen texts of every shape and size. Tieny Kolthoff is a nature lover. She never tires of watching nature bloom and grow. And that’s where she finds her relaxation after a busy day at the office. As one of the office managers, her tasks include many aspects of project management. Her commercial and financial nous was developed in the retail sector. She enjoyed fourteen fun years as a high-street branch manager. Then came her ‘experience’ as mother of two sons. But commerce is in her blood, so it was back into the business world with her. Via the bush telegraph, she found a vacancy at PassworD and she’ll not be leaving anytime soon.
Ine van Lent
Ine van Lent is a true Brabander – lots of fun and with what is apparently the sexiest dialect in the Netherlands! She worked for many years at divisional level for a water company. Through several moves, she has eventually found her home in the town of Zwolle. Organizing and planning are in her genes, and that’s just as well, given her job as office manager and her busy family. In addition to organizing all sorts of translation jobs, Ine is also responsible for billing clients and processing invoices from external translators. If you’ve any questions about your invoice, then don’t hesitate to call her!
Joan likes to begin the day with a clear head and so loves to cycle her way to Heino in wind, rain and shine. She is very inquisitive, a fact reflected in her background: she studied French Language & Literature, and then specialized in translation with a Bachelor’s translation course while working as a nurse in various fields. She characterizes herself as driven, involved and flexible. She translates into Dutch, revises French texts and is currently busy expanding her grasp of German.
Magali Ackermann is French and moved to the Netherlands 18 years ago. She loves foreign languages and is inquisitive about other cultures. In France she studied English at the University of Tours. Once in the Netherlands she successfully followed various nationally certified Dutch language courses. She also studied Spanish. Her love of plants first led her to work in the world of horticulture. But in 2000 she joined the PassworD team as French translator and Spanish reviser. Magali loves yoga, reading and listening to music.

Jan-Maarten Bomhof is very attached to Heino, both socially and through sport. He’s fanatical on the football pitch of the local FC, both as player and as youth leader. He prefers music that is considerably older then he is. In addition to football and music, Jan-Maarten is also passionate about languages. He studied General Linguistics in Groningen and is often found with his head in a crossword. As a translator at PassworD he can really indulge his passion. In addition to translation, Jan-Maarten is also involved in project management. He’s a flexible team player and very client-oriented, not to mention utterly unflappable.

Laura Zwolle is addicted to ballroom dancing, painting, music and travelling. She is also inquisitive about other cultures, perhaps because she was born outside the Netherlands. But Laura especially loves to mess around with languages. She studied English Language & Culture at Groningen University, with a minor in journalism. At PassworD, Laura is occupied with translation and copywriting. Generating creative texts, answering translators’ questions and working on solutions – all with the greatest of pleasure.
